LAGRO 2012

Back to Manila after a busy stay in Sulat. This is the time wherein papa and mama can relax. Sulat is relaxing for them too, but since there are always visitors coming, or invitations to go to, sometimes vacation tend to be overloaded too.  In Manila its just mostly us family.  We bond by like going to the malls, eating out, or just being home.
Like previous vacations, their stay in Manila  was enjoyable.  Papa and mama enjoyed the company of Arron. Arron spending more time in Lagro charmed his lolo and lola with whatever he does, his tricks, his singing etc

Going out is another thing we enjoy when papa and mama are in the city.  Its been a habit for cousins to treat them out to dinner.  We also make it a point to dine out just us family.  We tried Cookbook in Eastwood.  Also since papa was craving for a thai food, we brought him to Banana leaf in podium. We also made it a point to let them have their  cravings for filipino food like halo halo, laing, bananacue etc. While papa is into food, mama would be fine with shopping. This stay in Manila I guess brought pleasure to them.

PAPA AND MAMAs homecoming 2012

paulene,phoebe and arron

pictures paint a single word- HAPPINESS

The event was the "Del Rosario" in Sulat wherein Nadine was the hermana for the year 2012.  Definitely papa and mama had to be there, so together with uncle Herming and aunties they flew from the US to attend the said occasion.  The day after the said event, we went to Uncle Agus farm for a get together...

uncle donding, uncle tando, papa and topee

There were few who were not able to attend, but majority of the Baldados were there...from the kids or the apos the oldies( the grandmoms and grandpas)..Aside from the Baldados, guests that we consider  our families too were there...Mama Inda and company, Auntie Panying, and others who droppedby to join us..

This homecoming is memorable for our family..with the presence of papa and mama, all the aunties uncles and cousins who flew all the way from US or manila showed how this family support each other.

mama, auntie dayday and auntie ida

just like our usual gathering, each family brought food to share.  Uncle Agus who hosted the party, had treated the balikbayans and guests with lechon.  And of course he never forgot the "tuba" for the boys.

I was early in the farm. Pau, Phoebe and Aaron wanted to swim so I had to accompany them early to the farm.  That was what exactly they did the moment they got there, hit the water directly for    a swim.
Lunch time almost everyone was present and relished the food, the lechon which was freshly out from the fire, kinilaw the kakanins among others. Each took his or her own place, while enjoying the food. Guys took one of the cottages so everyone will had his" tagay" of the "tuba".

Girls were having chitchats, while the kids were in the waters. It was fun to see the kids playing in the beach. I was reminded how we cousins did the same thing when we were their age.  I guess it runs in Baldados blood the love for the beach.

oppa gangnam style

Dancing is another activity we enjoy during parties.  An upbeat music in the background made my auntie Mayet and auntie Mema get into the groove.  Then the rest of us followed.  Both aunties were  members of  zumba class, so we were taught of some zumba steps.  It was fun..

But the apos like Mica and Alain insisted to play the "oppa gangnam style".  This time they took the stage and led us with the moves to the famous dance music.

Most of us dipped into the waters, later.  While our boys continued drinking the tuba.  Our guests, went home to rest. There were still guests who came in the afternoon. Some joined the the drinking session even us the girls tried the tuba too.
We ended the reunion late afternoon..we do not want our oldies  and the kids to get colds.  I guess everyone enjoyed the gathering..afterall the best party is if its with your loved ones.

Child abuse

An act that is obscene
A child, another victim
vulnerable she is
Assaulted by a beast.

A life destroyed
Who is to blame?
A selfish beast
He cares the least.

What a shame
Child in pain
A guilty beast
He commits a sin.

Child was forced
To satisfy a beast
Sadness she feels
Evil she detests.

A wound inflicted
It is hard to mend
Dreams were killed
The future is bleak.

Cruelty
The beast, he does
But why to a child
She is unworthy of this.

(inspiration: child molestation I saw on tv)

CHRISTMAS 2011

It is  Blue and silver Christmas for this year.  Our tree is covered with ornaments made of dry leaves that I painted with silver and I used the old blue Christmas balls just to have a contrast to the all silver Christmas tree.

For the food in our table, Nadine brought ham for the appetizer. Then the main dish were crispy pata, chicken with chili sauce and pork barbecue. For our desserts I bought a chocolate cake while Nadine brought "pannacota".  We also have fruits as the usual Christmas tradition to have fruits in the table.

Gift giving time

Arrons request for this year is a collection of hotwheels.
 His uncle barnard grant his

request. Arron was super excited to received his more than a hundred of hotwheels and got more excited when I surprised him with a hotwheel launcher..Aside from the hotwheels he also got a mcqueen pillow book from his lolo Pamboy and lola Thelma..Christmas indeed is for kids

Standard of life

Outcast in a society where discrimination prevails
It is a poor principle that I detest
I ask you do u agree?
So sad If your are a victim of this.

Attractive is when you are pretty
Suitable you are if you have the money
Recognized if you are a cumlaude
Commendable the moment you stepped out from a university.

Why do I have to conform?
To a standard that is corrupt it ruins our lives
Why should pretend to be somebody we cannot be
It will just deprive our capacity.

I am poor no richness in me
I am broke I do not have the money
I am just but a humble being
Believe me goodness it is in me.

The peril is always present in our minds
Intuition is not always right
Do not be guided by a wrong standard
You have a choice you make it right.

ESTRELLAS DE MENDOZA PLAYA RESORT

Brett and Nadine planned an out of town treat for auntie Mema and tita Edith while they were in Manila.  Came Ate Lisas suggestion of checking out the Estrellas de Mendoza Playa resort in  Batangas. Together with ate Lisa and kuya Ed, ate Roselyns family, Nadine and Bretts family, we travelled one weekend to Laiya Batangas.
Drive to Laiya Batangas will take two and a half to three hours from Manila. Having Arron around and the scenery along the way, made us forget of the long ride.
A grandiose skycraper in the midst of nature, the gigantic infinity pool, the italian inspired cabanas distinct Estrellas de Mendoza from the other resort in the area. Where else to go, surrounded by nature, one side of the building is facing the sea and on the other side , the view of the mountains and green trees of the town is as marvelous as the ocean view too.
Aside from the breathtaking view, there are other activities to enjoy while you are in the resort.  Water activities like snorkeling, diving, or rent and ride on a boat, there are small islands that you can look at or you can simply relax in their enormous infinity pool.
Food is great. we got to try most of the filipino  dishes they serve in the hotel.  Even for our afternoon snacks, we were served with pansit, maja blanca and other yummy kakanins.  The owners took time to join our group too.
My aunties dipped in the pool. The kids too..and they had fun playing in the water. We left the resort early evening. Such an enjoyable treat for the balikbayans and we gave thanks to the resort owners for the accommodation

. Wonderful people and wonderful place.
